SUMMARY:Flexible work: rights\, requests & what works
DESCRIPTION:Understand the law. Navigate flexible work requests. Build arrangements that work for people and workplaces.  \nNo one should have to choose between their career and their family. Due to gender stereotypes\, women are often expected to do more unpaid caring and domestic work\, and many end up having to sacrifice their career as a result. Flexible working arrangements help address this barrier\, supporting employers to nurture and retain effective and diverse leaders.  \nJoin the Working Women’s Centre SA for a free webinar exploring flexible working arrangements from both the worker and employer perspective.   \nWhether you’re thinking about requesting flexible work\, responding to a request\, or looking for practical ways to make flexibility work in your workplace\, this session will help you understand the legal framework and what well-designed flexible work can look like in practice.  \n  \nFor workers  \nUnderstand who can request flexible work\, how to make a request\, how employers must respond and what happens when a request is refused.  \nFor employers and HR professionals  \nUnderstand your legal obligations and explore practical strategies for implementing flexible work in a way that supports operational requirements.  \n  \nYou’ll learn  \n\nWho can formally request flexible working arrangements \n\n\nEmployer obligations when responding \n\n\nReasonable business grounds for refusing a request \n\n\nPractical flexible work options beyond working from home \n\n\nCommon barriers to flexibility \n\n\nHow well-designed flexible work can support attraction\, retention and career progression \n\n  \nMeet the speakers  \n\nCorinne Grant: Principal Lawyer\, Working Women’s Centre SA\nEmma Ashley: Education & Training Officer\, Working Women’s Centre SA

SUMMARY:Public Forum: Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
DESCRIPTION:Sexual harassment is a serious\, widespread issue in workplaces – and NDAs have become part of this problem. It is difficult to stop sexual harassment if the people who experience it are prevented from talking about it. It’s time for stronger action to prevent sexual harassment from being hidden by employers and to stop victim-survivors from being silenced. \n  \nHear from: \n\nThe Hon. Katrine Hildyard MP\, Minister for Women and the Prevention of Domestic\, Family and Sexual Violence\n\n\nSharmilla Bargon\, Co-author of Let’s Talk About Confidentiality Report and Legal Director\, Working Women’s Centre NSW\n\n\nAnd activists with lived experience of workplace sexual harassment.\n\n  \nThis event is free and all are welcome! Please register your attendance. \n  \nThe event space at the Jade is wheelchair accessible through an alternative entrance directly through the leafy garden area. From there those using a wheelchair can access the perimeter of the event space\, the front bar area and an accessible toilet. For any accessibility requests or information\, please contact reception@wwc.org.au \n  \n
